The other Diabetes

I was recently diagnosed with Central Diabetes Insipidus. It is not Diabetes Mellitus. I thought that it was normal to just be thirsty all the time. I was up to drinking 4 gallons of water a day when I went to an Urologist for repeat bladder infection and kidney stone.

When he finally found the problem. I told him I was thirsty every minute of every day. And while I was drinking I was thirsty. I drank a 1/2 to a gallon when I was sleeping. And the urinating was constant. My bladder had adapted to the problem and could hold up to 1100cc of fluid, before I got the urge to urinate.

He also noticed that my urine was hydro saturated. I was just happy to learn that being thirsty was not normal. But most doctors never deal with this condition but it was nice to find one that knew of it. I am so grateful to him for that.
