To quickly access health information from your website's browser, download Very Scary My child was diagnosed with E-coli and as if dealing with that for a week wasn’t bad enough, then developed HUS. It was very scary! Bad things were happening to her body and organs were shutting down. Lucky for us, the doctors were familiar with the disease and helped us through each of the various items that were going wrong. I think it was more horrifying to learn that there is no cure or prevention. We are hoping that we are now out of the active stage and now in the recovery stage…but we are still here in ICU and dealing with the disease. PLEASE educate people against E-coli. That can be prevented, developing HUS can’t be. I wouldn’t wish this on anyone…I didn’t even know something so horrible existed. October 2007
