I waited for two weeks before going to the doctor bcause of virus’ going around school. At first, I was diagnosed with a bacterial infection in my colon. I was given medication (antibiotics) and told if not better come back. So, I went back about a week later and was given a different type of antibiotics, with more medication. A lower GI was set up for three weeks from then. I was some what better went about my daily routine. Food still made me nervous. I went out to eat on Friday night then worked Saturday at the Fall Festival at school. Sunday morning, I was throwing up with diahrea. Monday no different. Tuesday back to doctor if no better hospital. I was admitted that Thursday and them transported to a major hospital with my kidneys at 20% operable. I was diagnosed with E.Coli/HUS. The doctor was concerned he had only read about it a couple weks before. He prayed the God would lead me to the right physicians and he did. I underwent plasmapherises for 15 days 11 units a day plus 2 pints of blood (total). I went home the day before Thanksgiving and have been thankful and blessed to be here. I was able to see my son graduate for high school and now he is in college. I am blessed to be here. It is nice to know that I am not alone. |
