To quickly access health information from your website's browser, download Genetic Kidney Cancer Renal Cell Carcinoma Due to a bicycling accident (had CT Scan) my kidney cancer was discovered in October 2005. Only symptom I had (didn’t realize it at the time) was some back pain. My right kidney was removed Jan 2006. I’ve had CT Scans every 6 months. Sept 2009 I was told I have the same cancer in my left kidney. It is a NEW cancer, didn’t spread from the other one. Not in a good place to remove part of it. Getting biopsy within next week or so. I’ve got some concerns, scared actually about this. One Dr wants me to do PET Scan first but two others, more in this field say it is a waste of money. Not sure what type of treatment we will then do but think it may be freezing. May do genetic testing as Oncologist suggest. We want to protect our loved ones and help them catch this early if possible. Does anyone have any suggestions or gone through something like this that can help ease the fears? October 2009
