Ct scan shows no kidneys

by: mary (Mother of Kevin) on Tue, Nov 06 2007

My son Kevin was born with a horseshoe kidney. He is 26 yrs old, and has always had chronic kidney disease. He is at 20% kidney function, and the docs decided to evaluate him for a transplant. they okayed him to have it done, and then the ct scan showed no kidney, so now they have to remove his kidney before they will put him on transplant list. they say his bowel is wrapped around the kidney somehow. the vein mapping to put an access in his arm for dialysis showed his veins wasn’t strong enough, and also in the left arm showed he had no veins. They have him scheduled for surgery 11/13/07. i am asking everyone to keep him in their prayers if they believe.
