my kidney disease starts from untreated water infections as a child, and has over the years deteriorated very slowly now at 43 years old my kidney function is 8% and i am still not on dialysis even though i had a tenchkoff fitted over 12 months ago ( for peritinoel dialysis ) needless to say i am still working full time in a busy freight business and have just become a grandma !

life is such a struggle as time goes on by other effects happen on the system the latest this week is restless leg syndrome - which unless you have experienced it you cant describe and also cant sleep ! but an extra tablet a day to add to the 28 has solved that, but saying that my positive outlook is this - if your kidneys fail you can live on dialysis but if your heart / lungs / liver goes and you cant get a donor you die so the kidney is organ of choice if you are to suffer an organ failure. the glass is always half full !!!!!
