I had the stone removed and suffered weeks of searing pain from the removal which had left my whole urinary tract raw. Many years passed and I did all I was told avoided excess calcium and meat drank alot of water and cranberry juice(which at the time was the suggested menu changes). Everything seemed to be working fine though I was diagnosed with severe acne depression and chronic fatigue syndrome (my kidneys seemed o.k. ) Then I went to the doctor for a sinus infection and he gave me a medicine in sample form which was antibiotic in nature but not a well known one, It was a pill that left horrible taste and the drainage of my healing sinus left terrible bitterness in my throat. The next thing I know after 7 days of this pill I start experiancing painful urination and return to the doctor to find I have blood in the urine but no infection. He said this is often a sign of kidney stone. Yes he was right I now have a kidney stone. So odd after so many years (24) to suddenly get one and it had seemed the horrible antibiotic medicine he put me on had caused my stomach to ache that turned into back ache and then urinary ache all in the point of hours I was feeling all those pains after each pill I took. I knew the medicine had something to do with this new stone. possibly causing a huge increase in uric acid. So I went on line and looked up the name of the medicine which for the life of me I cant think of now (though I do have it in my medical records. I could not believe someone would offer a medicine that was known to cause stones in luei of something safer and I was angry.. I believe in spite of my 3 kidneys which may cause me some imbalances in mood, energy and the metabolism of sugars that my kidneys were working as best they could, but throw in a medicine that causes stones in some people and I fall into 100% “Yes I will absolutely get one” catagory… anyhow I want to caution anyone who has had or is prone to stone formation check those antibitoics and other meds make sure they are not actually causing your poor overworked kidneys more issues than they can clean out … to think that anyone would knowingly put a medicine out there that would do that …should we be surprised the pharmacuitical companies have recently put out a medicine to help fight a rash that can cause heart attack;… do they care about us at all !!!
