To quickly access health information from your website's browser, download Women and kidney stones If you are a woman and have had kidney stones Though it is not common, it CAN be caused by elevated levels of calcium, caused by your parathyroid. Many doctors ignore this possibility, mine did. I had kidney stones 13 years ago. Only recently did i learn that i have had elevated calcium levels — for 13 years! i would suggest that you check out the information on the internet about parathyroidism before checking with your doctor. so that if you have had high calcium levels and your dr. tells you everything is ok anyway, you will be educated enough to tell him it is not ok, and find an endocrine surgeon to do the simple surgery needed. it could change your life. High calcium levels in women who have this disease takes calcium out of your bones (yes, it will cause osteoporosis) puts it in your blood and this is where the elevated calcium levels come from. It does not matter if your levels are only a little bit elevated or if they are sometimes normal. — that can do it. and it it can deminish the quality of ones life tremendously. It can lead to stroke heat attack, high blood pressure low energy and so many things.Doctors many times are not aware of the implications of elevated calcium levels. and even many endocrinologists are not aware of the new minimally invasive micro surgery that cures it. so if you have had or have kidney stones, get your past years blood tests and see what your calcium levels are and check out the information online to educated yourself.
