To quickly access health information from your website's browser, download Still suffering with a stone after Lithotripsy Hello, I’ve been a longtime kidney stone sufferer since the age of 16 (now age 50 and female). I’ve always been able to pass them until now. This one started a couple of weeks ago. A CT scan showed I had an 11mm stone in my right ureter. I had lithotripsy done and was sent home. I’ve been back to the ER twice for pain relief and continued to have intermitent pain. However, since Thursday I’ve been suffering with moderate to severe pain and living on Percoset to relieve some of the pain. I’ve missed work on and off for two weeks and don’t see an end in sight. I’ll see the urologist (finally) on Monday after an ultrasound and another xray (this will be exactly 2 weeks since the lithotripsy. The last xray after lithotripsy showed the stone broke up but that there were several smaller stones left to pass. Is there anything more the doctors can do? I’m absolutely miserable. I feel like there should be more that can be done. I’ve never taken this long to pass a stone. I’m beginning to wonder if the urologists know what they’re doing. I’m so discouraged. Any advice or similar stories would be appreciated. Thanks. Comments
