3 to 5 years with a ovarian cyst

by: Lisa on Fri, Nov 09 2007

Yes, I am 44 years old and I have recently had a 50lb ovarian cyst removed. I would like to get my story out to other women who think that they might be overweight like I did. I saw 4 to 5 doctors in the last year and not one made me aware of what was going on with my stomach. Finally during a regular check-up and me begging my doctor to put me on some kind of medical diet he decided to send me to get a CT scan of my stomach. I can’t tell you enough how upsetting this was to me when I found out that I had a 50lb ovarian cyst in my stomach. I had the cyst removed and a complete hysterectomy so I would never have to experience anything like this again. Now I am 44 and in menopause and having horrible back pain due to carrying this cyst for so long. I still need further surgery because I have so much skin hanging from my stomach. Please if you feel miserable and you know somethings got to be wrong, than don’t stop trying to get Doctors to listen to you.
