Legionnaires and ARF

In January 2007 I suffered a chest complaint I thought was mild pneumonia On January 19th I was admited to hospital in a coma, diagnosed as suffering from Legionella and ARF. Haemodialysis required the replacement of the filtering medium four times in the initial treatment. I was treated with Arithromycin.

Before I came out of the coma, I contracted MRAB, MRSA and VISA. I was treated with Timentin and Vancomycin. My kidney function returned about the same time I periodically escaped the coma (after four weeks) and demanded water by mouth. Part of the continuing ARF was due to Rhabdomyolsis due to my extreme metabolic response to lactose poisoning, coupled with dehydration. Note that urine production only approached normal figures after I was out on a lactose-free diet and was given additional water by mouth.

Unfortunately, the whole affair, while leaving my lungs and kidneys functioning normally, resulted in neural damage similar to that found in cerebral palsy victims (apart from intellectually, else I would not have been able to research this matter).
