How I Quit a 2 pack a day habit

Just like any other addiction….you have to really WANT this for YOURSELF. I was blessed with 3 beautiful daughters. I decided the way to help myself was to change my thought process…I had to imagine myself lying on my death bed, dying of lung cancer gasping for for something we take for granted “air”. I tried to visualize the looks on their faces, and how helpless they would feel. How could I possibly put them through something like that because of my selfishness? Just to blow smoke out of a hole in my face?
Don’t ge me wrong, cold turkey was very hard. I had already quit for 5 weeks when my dad called me to tell me he was diagnosed with lung cancer and not doing well with chemo You know when I hung up the phone the first thing I thought to myself was “I need a butt.” But I never did again ….it’s six years now. Now my thought pattern goes to my wonderful father that I lost 4 years ago down to 108 pounds fighting to breathe…and how I had to give him morphine to ease his suffering….Is it really worth it? The price is too great when you think of it…..please stop. Your families love you! I know I miss that man so very, very, much….
